There are 5 reasons for LightRail light movers, as in 5 reasons for using them. And each bullet point is powerful for results. How this works is easy to understand and super logical. And for each of these points, remember this. You can only get this with LightRail by Gualala Robotics:
1. Reduce shadow patterns for better yields
Another way to see this is to point out that the only way to get grow light penetration is by using a grow light mover. Stationary grow lights shine straight down and never get that plant light penetration to any leaves beyond the upper most canopy leaves. So, maybe half the leaves or more are not being reached efficiently. That same grow light, moving on a LightRail light mover, will reach all the leaves. By angling in that plant light, more of the leaves are now working for the good of the plant. An excellent way to understand this is to imagine the entire plant is a factory with each leaf being a worker in that factory. If only half the workers (leaves) are producing, then the result in production is 50%. Conversely, when the grow light is moving along the light mover rail, and with the light angling in intermittently to reach all the leaves, then production is up. All the leaves are now getting equal light time, and at just the right amount of time per leaf surface. This reduces the shadow patterns with better grow light penetration. And that simple change results in faster growth and much better yields.
2. Eliminate hot spots
Even the cooler grow lights have an intense, zoned-light overkill spot just in the area below the grow light. So, with any grow light and to counter this, many people position their grow lights higher. But then they lose important grow light intensity. With stationary grow lights, it’s a dilemma. The answer to this problem is to move the grow lights along the light mover rail. And that action eliminates the hot spots along with any zoned-light overkill. So now, that intense grow light is more evenly distributed. And no canopy area is getting overheated. Because of this solution, grow lights can be positioned closer to the plants for maximum realized Ppfd, and that’s as a more evenly distributed Ppfd. There’s nothing that comes close to this important change.
3. Cover up to 50% more area, and that’s per grow light

Will move any grow light, and all grow lights should move.
This is super smart. Stationary grow lights typically cover a limited square area, whereas a grow light on a light mover covers more of a rectangle. So, when you turn a basic square block of grow light coverage into a 50% larger rectangle of light, that’s significant. For a single grow light, you are getting this bonus area of an extra few feet of coverage. Or, for larger grow spaces such as the grow room, the greenhouse, the container grow room, the basement grow room, or an indoor farm, you have this. You can use up to 50% fewer grow lights. And, beyond those savings, you can use up to 50% fewer grow lamps or bulbs. In addition, there are 50% fewer bulb replacements.
Beyond the savings of not needing to buy too many grow lights, it also makes sense from an ecological point of view. With stationary grow light setups, there is a lot of grow light waste. Just thinking of the environmental impact of all that production, and where is it being made? Likely from a country that doesn’t care about environmental anything, just saying. All of this matters. And that goes beyond just that many more grow light bulbs ending up in a landfill.
One more important subheading to mention here is the cost of electricity. With up to 50% fewer grow lights needed by using light movers, that’s huge for electrical savings. More and more, people have heavy restrictions for their electrical usage, and they are required to cut back. Or just the practicality of their electrical setup requires them to limit their electrical usage. That no longer means cutting back on planted areas. In a market where energy efficiency and competitive budgeting can be as important as yield, you can have all of the above. That’s because Light Rail light movers give supercharged coverage and that’s with a Light Rail Motor that uses only 5 watts.
4. Instrument grade robotics, solidly made in the USA
Light Rail is quality constructed instrument-grade robotics, solidly made in the USA to perform as an absolute workhorse, crop after crop and year after year. Other details include advanced digital control circuitry, Extreme Duty Trolley Wheels rated to 60 lbs as sealed precision bearing carrier wheels, and a self-clutch drive design with automatic traction control. These features are unique to the Light Rail brand. Light Rail has authentic electrical certifications C CSA US or CE, and flammability ratings UL 5 VB, and is RoHS compliant. Light Rail is unique as it runs at a safe 28 to 42 degrees C with a flame-retardant electrical enclosure, as it should be. Solidly constructed, Light Rail will move any grow light and multiple grow lights inline per Motor.
And, because we are located in the US, you’ll always know where to find us for any setup questions, or for any questions down the road.
5. Ranked as the #1 grow light efficiency product on the market
This is where we say…..all of the above. When using a LightRail light mover results in fewer grow lights needed, less electricity used and at the same time, faster growth along with higher yields, that’s all about efficiency. LightRail light movers are so efficient that they actually pay for themselves from the moment you make your purchase. It’s super smart. And you can only get this with LightRail by Gualala Robotics.
